Steven Stein is the company's president and operations manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the aquaponics and integrated farming operations. For the last fifteen years, he has been a consultant to public and private companies in areas as diverse as military contract supply and alternative energy, with a focus on Hydro, Solar, and Wind Technologies. Stein graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance/Insurance. He has extensive experience in early stage and startup companies, including taking companies public. He started his career with St. Paul Federal Savings & Loan in Chicago, Illinois where he was one of 7 licensed registered representatives (series 7, 63, Life/Health Insurance). He went on working with E.F. Hutton where he was a pioneer with the integration of the professional athlete marketplace and provided a one stop financial network for the sports market. Stein ultimately moved on to the Investment Banking stage with Capital Consulting Group, where he specialized in marketing, raising of capital, sales, and business development.
Nathalie Ane brings 15 plus years of broad ranging skills in account management, sales development, integrated marketing, brand development, lead generation and customer acquisition for consumer and B2B companies. Nathalie has a BA in journalism from San Francisco State University and a Master's degree in communication from Stanford University. She started her career working as a journalist both in print and broadcast news in the U.S., Europe and the Far East. She went on to be a respected leader in the ad industry for her role in client service/account management and later as one of the top recruiters in the Bay Area known for building solid creative and account teams for such global agencies as TBWA Chiat Day in LA; Ogilvy and Mather, Foot Cone & Belding, Saatchi & Saatchi and Razorfish, all in San Francisco as well as Weiden Kennedy in Portland, to name a few. Although Nathalie now resides in Arizona, she goes back to the Bay Area – the place she refers to as home – at any given opportunity.
Dr. Licamele specializes in the development of sustainable integrated farming technologies for application in the food and energy industry. He has over 15 years of experience in commercial production and R&D working with private companies, government entities, research institutions, as well as serving as a consultant in the biotechnology industry. Dr. Licamele holds advanced degrees in Biological Systems Engineering, Marine Biology, and Water Policy and Management. Jason is an author of various publications and patents in the field of biotechnology and aquaculture. He has experience in designing and developing commercial aquaculture operations, including work for the USAID in the Caribbean, Central America, and French Polynesia, which earned him a United States Presidential Service Award.
Julien Mauranges is the facility's technician working directly under the auspices of Jason Licamele, PhD the facility's Biological Engineer. Since the inception of the strategic partnership between SIFarmsintl and St Vincent the Paul, Mauranges has played an integral part in the construction and development of the 60 x 90 aquaponic/hydroponic facility. He is responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of hydroponic crop yield by ensuring strict adherence to standing operation procedures. His responsibilities include seeding, harvesting, monitoring and maintaining water quality and PH balance, monitoring live stock as well as the grounds inside the greenhouse. Mauranges is a freshman at Paradise Valley Community College and pursuing a degree in sustainability.
